about Odawara
History tells Souun Houjou (Shinkuro Ise) came from Ise, and he just created Odawara Houjou's most likely by himself.
in 5 generations later, Hideyosi Toyotomi (Hideyosi Hashiba = Tokichiro Kinoshita) got it. He had so many names.
he was called "Hashiba Chikuzen-no-kami" or "Hideyoshi Fujiwara" for some periods.
Personally, I love Kanagawa Pref too much, so I tend to say someghing good about kanagawa.

 So close to Odawara

Just one hour from Tokyo station to Odawara by Tokaido-Shinkansen.
this line became my favorite. not very cheap, but very fast and convenient.
also, you can accesss to Sunpu Castle and Kakegawa Castle.
both are located in shizuoka and in the list of Japanese 100 great castles.

Japanese Shinkansen Ticket. I assume they dont have English one.

Early summer in Japan is so beautiful and comfortable. especially here, Odawara. I even thought I wanna live here.

In front of the gate Odawara Castle. My trip alwasy starts with a Starbuck's coffee.

Thie pond is so clean and neat.

and now, I am coming to the caslte. my heart keep beating all the time when i walk to the castle. very happy.

Castle!THIS IS THE CASTLE!!and this one is historically so important.
when Hideyoshi Toyotomi was about to integrate the whole Japan, the last place he needed to take down was this castle.

You can drink an Amazake around here. Amazake is one kind of japanese traditional fermented drink without alchohol or very less of it.
also, you can buy some sweet japanese dumplings or such.

Entrance for Tenshukaku, which means the top floor of the castle.
inside, I could not take a picture to prevent deterioration of the artifact by flash or red light of camera.
However, in the Tenshukaku, I can take a photo. and it is really a grat view.

almost every castle has reception. that may sound weird, but most castles are not free to enter so...
and important thing, at least to me, is I dont like some rude receptionist in the castle ^^;
it is very very rare, but there is some unfortunately. but here, in Odawara castle, they are so good.
oh, but I dont think they can communicate in English that much. they hand out English leaflet tho.

It looks very steep from this photo, but actually it is not that much. no worry.

ya, the stamp. I often forget about this. when you visit these castle, make sure you stamped.

from the top of the Odawara Castle.

you will see Miura-Shores, Izu, and Hakone. everywhere is hostorically important and has a great view.
I really wish I am born in Odawara.

at the gate of Odawara castle and its Garden

I see around, touch around, and take around the photos all the time in every castle I visit.
but it is kinda difficult. too many people passing by, and the light is usualy too less for cameras.

小田原城門

Japanese Rice Garden place. amazingly, they are inside the castle area. I don't see this that much.

Walking around the ocean side of Odawara

my first ocean this year. view, smell, sound, color sea, everything so perfect.

sky, sea, sand, cloud, and mountain. this is everything of the world to me.

just 5 minutes walk from Odawara Castle. here is a sea.
I dont have any sense of the map actually >< neither of my frined.

he said "so, is this that famous Shonan Sea?"
I replied "it might be... not sure. but as long as I see the view around here... it doesnt look like."

and after 30 minutes walking around, we just remembered "I-Phone". its GPS says this is completely not Shonan sea ><

for additioanl fun

 In the end

小田原を訪れたのは今年の初夏でしたが、気づいたらもう8月も終わりを迎えようとしております(・・;
